About Hatch
Hatch isn’t just a co-working space. We’re the heartbeat of Sri Lanka’s innovation ecosystem — a platform where startups launch, communities grow, and bold ideas find the infrastructure to become real businesses. From our accelerator and incubator programs to Maker Studio and a packed calendar of events, there is always something happening at Hatch. We need someone to capture it.
Your Mission
As a Content Creator and Video Editor at Hatch, you will be responsible for capturing the energy of our space, events, and community — and translating it into compelling short-form content for social media. This is not a studio production role. It is a fast-moving, always-on content role built around real moments, real people, and authentic storytelling.
You will be the person in the room with a phone or camera, knowing exactly what to capture and how to turn it into content that performs. From reels to event recaps to day-in-the-life clips, your output will represent Hatch across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and beyond.
About the Role
Hatch is Sri Lanka's leading startup and innovation hub, running coworking spaces, managed offices, and flagship programs, incubators, accelerators, alongside a packed events calendar. This role owns Hatch's day-to-day marketing execution and brand consistency across every program and space, and is the primary internal counterpart to Hatch's external marketing partners (a performance marketing agency, SEO partner, and content partner).
This is a senior individual-contributor role with real ownership: the person in this seat sets the standard for what "on-brand" looks like across the organization, runs point on live events during high-intensity periods, and is trusted to brief and quality-check external partners rather than execute everything by hand.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & content ownership
Own the social media content calendar, balancing planned content with the high volume of ad-hoc requests from program teams.
Set and enforce brand and voice consistency across sub-brands (Hatch master brand, Startup Nation, Maker Studio) — warm, grounded, first-person tone; no hype language, no exclamation marks, no ecosystem-speak.
Build and quality-check presentations and decks for leadership, sponsors, and partners.
Website & digital presence
Manage routine website content updates via the CMS.
Monitor the AI chatbot inbox daily — more frequently during active campaigns — and ensure real leads and enquiries are escalated promptly.
Contribute to the in-progress hatch.lk rebuild as the marketing point of contact once structural decisions are finalized.
Events
Build and manage Luma event pages for all Hatch programming, and keep Linktree links current — particularly critical during periods with multiple concurrent events.
Act as the on-the-ground marketing lead during flagship moments (Demo Day, F#ckUp Fridays, community events).
Cross-functional coordination
Direct the in-house photographer/videographer's asset delivery into the content calendar.
Brief and review output from Hatch's SEO partner (Loops) and content partnership (Dishooom), keeping both aligned to current priorities and brand voice.
Supply Hatch's performance marketing agency with creative assets, brand guardrails, and campaign context; act as the internal approver for paid campaign creative and a source of funnel/context knowledge they need.
Represent marketing in cross-team planning for programs (Startup Nation, Maker Studio, etc.), ensuring marketing timelines are built into program plans rather than reacting to them.
What This Role Is Not
This role does not run paid media, marketing automation (Apollo/Make.com), or email segmentation strategy — that performance/technical layer sits with an external agency. This role is the agency's brand gatekeeper and creative supplier, not its replacement.
Requirements
3–5+ years in marketing, brand, or communications roles, ideally including some in-house experience at a fast-moving organization (startup, hub, agency, or events-heavy environment).
Familiarity with social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) — platform-specific content formats, posting best practices, and native scheduling/publishing tools.
Working knowledge of a CMS, a design/scheduling tool (Adobe Express, Canva, or similar), and project management tooling (ClickUp).
Strong written and verbal communication; able to brief external vendors clearly and assess their output critically.
Comfortable operating in high-intensity, live-event conditions (concurrent event management, same-day fixes).
Prior experience managing or closely coordinating with a performance marketing agency is a strong plus.
Bonus: familiarity with Mailchimp, Figma, or WordPress..
What Success Looks Like
Monthly content calendar published on schedule and adopted by all content-producing partners, with no missed scheduled posts even during high-volume periods.
Leads acknowledged/escalated within a defined same-day SLA.
Zero broken or outdated event links during live, concurrent-event periods.
Brand consistency holds across sub-brands without repeated leadership-level correction.
External partners (agency, SEO, content) operate from clear, timely briefs and don't stall waiting on internal sign-off.
Lead data in ClickUp stays accurate and current, with sales and the agency aligned on status, no stale or duplicate records slowing follow-up.
